The Parasitoid Hyposoter didymator Can Transmit a Broad Host Range Baculovirus in a Two Host System

چکیده

Hyposoter didymator (Thunberg) (Hymenoptera: Ichneumonidae) and baculovirus (BV) might be used jointly to provide effective control of the Spodoptera genus. The literature has mostly covered safe compatibility between natural enemies BV-based insecticides, but research on potential dispersal BV by is lacking. Thus, goal this manuscript was ascertain if H. able disperse broad host range Autographa californica nucleopolyhedrovirus (AcMNPV) littoralis exigua in choice non-choice conditions whether preference parasitoid one these noctuids could mediate dispersion. It previously needed improve rearing laboratory, concerning optimal age length parasitization, competition, influence parasitization longevity females. best for S. are collective mature L3 larvae 24 h, after at least day copulation. transmits AcMNPV both lepidopterans, its efficiency mediated pathogenicity each host. In particular case, as well showed a clear towards exigua.

Generating a host range-expanded recombinant baculovirus

As baculoviruses usually have a narrow insecticidal spectrum, knowing the mechanisms by which they control the host-range is prerequisite for improvement of their applications as pesticides. In this study, from supernatant of culture cells transfected with DNAs of an Autographa californica multiple nucleopolyhedrovirus (AcMNPV) mutant lacking the antiapoptotic gene p35 (vAc(∆P35)) and a cosmid ...

Multigenic Families in Ichnovirus: A Tissue and Host Specificity Study through Expression Analysis of Vankyrins from Hyposoter didymator Ichnovirus

The viral ankyrin (vankyrin) gene family is represented in all polydnavirus (PDVs) genomes and encodes proteins homologous to I-kappaBs, inhibitors of NF-kappaB transcription factors. The structural similarities led to the hypothesis that vankyrins mimic eukaryotic factors to subvert important physiological pathways in the infected host. Here, we identified nine vankyrin genes in the genome of ...

Adaptive plasmid evolution results in host-range expansion of a broad-host-range plasmid.

Little is known about the range of hosts in which broad-host-range (BHR) plasmids can persist in the absence of selection for plasmid-encoded traits, and whether this "long-term host range" can evolve over time. Previously, the BHR multidrug resistance plasmid pB10 was shown to be highly unstable in Stenotrophomonas maltophilia P21 and Pseudomonas putida H2. To investigate whether this plasmid ...

Extensive Transcription Analysis of the Hyposoter didymator Ichnovirus Genome in Permissive and Non-Permissive Lepidopteran Host Species

Ichnoviruses are large dsDNA viruses that belong to the Polydnaviridae family. They are specifically associated with endoparasitic wasps of the family Ichneumonidae and essential for host parasitization by these wasps. We sequenced the Hyposoter didymator Ichnovirus (HdIV) encapsidated genome for further analysis of the transcription pattern of the entire set of HdIV genes following the parasit...

Wolbachia in two insect host-parasitoid communities.

Wolbachia form a group of intracellular bacteria that alter reproduction in their arthropod hosts. Two major phylogenetic subdivisions (A and B) of Wolbachia occur. Using a polymerase chain reaction assay we surveyed for the A and B group Wolbachia in 82 insect species from two temperate host-parasitoid communities (food webs) and a general collection of Lepidoptera caught at a light trap. One ...
